Breath, Movement, & Meditation

Combatting Stress

Finding balance in the body through breath, movement and mediation practices is one of the best ways to combat stress, overwhelm, anxiety and depression. Movement practices can be as simple as taking a daily walk in nature or a short yoga practice.

There are so many different types of yoga. This means that learning which type of yoga is best for you during your journey can be very supportive to your body. There are times when a vinyasa, yin or restorative might be best for your body and building this awareness in your own body is one of the main aspects of Ayurvedic coaching.

Also on a more subtle level, in Ayurvedic coaching we teach mindful movement which includes body yantra practices, meditative movement and linking breath with movement. There are many exercises to try, so we always try to find the ones that are most suited to you.

Meditation

Meditation is something that many believe is super challenging! The great thing about meditation is that there are many practices that are perfect for beginnings and only require 2 minutes of your time! I also incorporate mudras (hand gestures) to help to maintain focus. Meditation, like mindful movement, has so many benefits and can be a great way to start and/or end your day without a huge time commitment on your end.

Breathwork (Pranayama)

Incorporating these practices into your daily routine can help with stress relief and management as well as improve overall mood. Breathwork is another short exercise that you can add into your daily routine. Sometimes it is also a great way to take a short break while you are working.
